Photos from the Big Night of Jazz are online now
We finished the festival season! The high school Wind
Symphony performed at the Biola Band Festival, and
the Junior High Wind Ensemble performed at the John F.
Kennedy High School SCSBOA Band Festival where they scored 2 Excellents and 1 Good on stage, and an Excellent in
sight-reading; way to go! BC Band in Concert was our serious
band literature concert on May 9th where our
classical ensembles perform band classics and other
music written specifically for wind ensemble. It was a
great success.
Our JH and SH
jazz bands performed well at the Fullerton Jazz Festival.
The 8 o' Clock Jazz Band scored all Superiors and placed 3rd
in the Heavy Division! Jazz Workshop scored Excellents
across the board and the combo from that group did just as
well. The Junior High Jazz Band scored 2 Superiors and an
Excellent, and they all attended a fantastic clinic by Professor
Joe Jewell on a condensed history of jazz.
